Renewable energy developer Sunly opened the Raba battery storage station on 21 October 2026 in Põhja-Pärnumaa municipality. The station is meant to store electricity when supply is plentiful and draw on it when generation is short.
The Raba hybrid park joins that new storage to a solar plant completed in August 2024. The solar site has 69,000 panels, and the electricity it produces covers about the annual consumption of 13,000 households. The battery park has a capacity of 21 megawatts and consists of 12 battery containers. Its planned life is at least 16 years.
The whole hybrid park is connected to the main grid. The solar plant next to the battery park has been in place since 2024.
