Grand Theft Auto VI will feature in-game podcasts alongside a radio lineup of at least six stations, extending one of the franchise's defining world-building systems beyond music programming.
Rockstar Games has described the forthcoming selection as the series' most extensive and varied in-game radio offering to date. Players will be able to listen while driving or on foot, making audio programming a more persistent part of the open-world experience.
The stations will span formats including talk radio and classic rock. The addition of podcasts creates room for longer-form scripted or conversational content, potentially giving Rockstar another channel for satire, character development and commentary within the fictional setting.
For game developers, the approach underlines how licensed music, original audio and contextual media can make large virtual environments feel more responsive and lived-in. Details of the planned stations and podcast programming were reported by The Verge.
