Google has entered the local-first meeting productivity market with AI Edge Foresight, an application designed to capture conversations, create notes and respond to questions without relying on a live connection.
The app uses on-device artificial intelligence to process meeting content. That approach places it in direct competition with Granola, whose meeting-note product has attracted attention for making notes and summaries available without positioning itself as another bot joining a call.
According to TechCrunch, AI Edge Foresight can transcribe conversations, generate notes and answer questions based on the discussion. Google’s move brings a major platform company into a category where privacy, responsiveness and control over sensitive discussion records are central product considerations.
For Estonian startups and technology teams, the development highlights growing competition around AI tools that keep more work on a user’s device. Local processing can be particularly relevant for organisations handling commercially sensitive meetings or seeking practical AI assistance where internet access is limited.
